✅ Top Tips & Rules Before DCET Exam

Do’s

    Bring the Essentials:
  • Print and carry your DCET Admit Card.
  • Bring a valid Photo ID proof (Aadhaar card, Driving License, Voter ID, etc.).
  • Carry black or blue ballpoint pens (as specified).
  • Reach on Time:
  • Arrive at the exam center at least 60 minutes before the reporting time.
  • Dress Appropriately:
  • Wear simple and comfortable clothes with no metallic items or accessories.
  • Follow Instructions:
  • Listen to and follow the instructions given by the invigilators carefully.
  • Verify Details:
  • Check that your roll number, question paper code, and seat number match your admit card.
  • Use Time Wisely:
  • Manage your time carefully during the exam. Attempt all the questions you are confident about first.
  • Maintain Discipline:
  • Stay quiet, focused, and respectful of others in the exam hall.

Don’ts

    Don’t Carry Banned Items:
  • Mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, written materials, or any electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited.
  • Don’t Be Late:
  • Latecomers may not be allowed to enter the exam hall once the gate is closed.
  • Don’t Cheat or Help Others:
  • Any form of cheating or helping others can lead to disqualification.
  • Don’t Write Anything on the Question Paper:
  • Unless allowed, avoid marking on the question paper other than designated areas.
  • Don’t Panic
  • If you face any issue during the test, raise your hand and inform the invigilator calmly.
  • Don’t Leave Early
  • Leaving the exam hall before the stipulated time is usually not allowed.

  • Locate your exam center a day before to avoid confusion.
  • Arrive at the exam center at least 60 minutes before the reporting time.
  • Maintain silence and discipline inside the premises.
  • Listen to invigilators and cooperate with security checks.
  • Get find your room using your ID before 30 minutes of exam.

🕒 Exam Timings & Structure

  • Exam Start Time: 2 PM to 5 PM.
  • Duration: 3 hours.
  • Filling Details: 25 minutes.

📄 Question Paper Pattern

  • Question Type: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
  • Number of Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Marking: 1 mark for each correct answer | Note: No negative marking
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours

In Kannada Language Test in DCET

  • Aspect - Details
  • Who has to take it - Only Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates
  • Purpose - To prove proficiency in Kannada language
  • Mode - Offline, pen-and-paper
  • Duration - 1 hour
  • Total Marks - 50 marks
  • Qualifying Marks - Minimum 12 out of 50 marks to qualify
  • Question Type - Objective type or descriptive (based on KEA's notification)
  • When Conducted - After the main DCET exam, (As per KEA updates)
  • Syllabus - Basic knowledge of reading, writing, and understanding Kannada
  • 📌 Important Notes: This test is not for ranking but is mandatory for eligibility. Candidates who fail the Kannada test will not be considered for admission under the Horanadu/Gadinadu quota.
